What is Crucible?

Crucible is a free-to-play team-based PvP action shooter. Players choose a hunter from a diverse roster of aliens and humans with unique weapons, abilities, and upgrades. In each match, you'll have to coordinate with teammates, control the map, and take out the opposing team as you fight to take down and harvest the hearts of gigantic hive creatures.

Where can I get Crucible?

You can download Crucible for free on Steam.

What are the system requirements to play Crucible?

In order to play Crucible, you'll need a Steam account, an internet connection, and a PC—you can visit our system requirements page for full details on PC specifications.

How much does Crucible cost?

Crucible is free-to-play and can be downloaded from Steam with no purchase necessary. You can buy a battle pass each season, and the in-game store also has cosmetic items available for purchase. Crucible does not sell items that allow players to pay to win.

Does Crucible have a subscription?

Nope! Crucible is free-to-play—there's no box price and no subscription.

Does Crucible have an in-game store?

Yes, Crucible has an in-game store. You can buy a battle pass each season, and we’ll also have in-game cosmetic items available for purchase. Crucible does not sell items that allow players to pay to win.

Does Crucible have a battle pass?

Yes. There will be a battle pass available for purchase for each season; that battle pass will include rewards that can be earned by completing challenges while the season is running. Additionally, each season will have a season reward track which rewards players with in-game items as they play throughout the season. Progress made on the season reward track will also apply to the battle pass (and vice versa).

I heard I can get free Credits! Can you tell me more?

As a limited-time thank-you to players who are joining us in Crucible, if you download the game and log in during Pre-Season, you’ll receive 1,000 Credits for use in the in-game store! You can learn more here.

Can I use my Amazon gift card to purchase items in Crucible's in-game store?

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we're unable to offer a way to use your Amazon gift card to purchase items in Crucible's in-game store at this time.

Can I use money in my Steam Wallet to purchase items in Crucible's in-game store?

Yes. Money from your Steam Wallet can be used to purchase Crucible’s in-game currency, Credits, which enable you to unlock items from the in-game store.

Can I play Crucible with my friends?

Yes! You’ll need to be friends on Steam. Once you’re both logged into Crucible, open the Steam social tab, right-click on your friend’s name, and select “Invite to Lobby.”

I'm a [tank/healer/DPS]! Which hunter should I pick?

Crucible hunters are not limited to specific classes or even roles. Crucible brings character types from various genres into one battlefield, emphasizing unique designs that enable varied playstyles. Each hunter in Crucible can be applied in a variety of ways, so don't get too hung up on looking for the perfect "tank" or "healer" character. Instead, find someone who fits your playstyle, then figure out how you want to use them.

How do I report a bug in Crucible?

Inside the Crucible game client, you can report a bug by hitting the escape key and selecting "Report a Bug."

What languages does Crucible support?

Crucible fully supports English, French, German, and Spanish (Castilian and Latin American).

Crucible features text support for Italian, Polish, and Portuguese (Brazilian).

My friend wants to try Crucible. Can I share my account with them?

Account sharing is prohibited by our Code of Conduct. But don’t worry—Crucible is free-to-play, so your friend can download the game from Steam and try it out for themselves.
